PANORAMA RIDGE TRAIL .
Panorama Ridge Trail is the most gorgeous hike that we have done here in British Columbia, I mean everything is beautiful out here, but this was exceptional!
We knew it was one of the last weekends before the mountains started to get snow, and it happened to be a clear forecast, so we thought we better take this opportunity that had presented itself in front of us. Garabaldi Provincial Park is located right outside of Whistler, hence its beauty. Whistler is one of the coziest mountain towns, has the best views, the best food and shopping. It is the perfect way to escape for a weekend!
But, back to the hike, this 30km round trip hike starts off on a gradual incline and slowly creeps up, it doesn't get steep until you hit the last rocky 2km to the top of the hike, so that is the good news, but by then your legs are rather tired, but keep going, you won't be disappointed in the slightest. The name Panorama Ridge Trail is as fitting as it gets, sweeping views of Garabaldi Provincial Park along with views of Black Tusk.
Eric may or may not have been pulling me up the last 1km of the hike up, Women who aren't yet married, find yourself a guy that will literally pull you up or put you on his back for a hike just so you can experience things, I know I have found the world's best hiking partner! Husband of the year goes to you, Eric! :) I definitely bought different hiking boots after this hike, thanks Brianna Vyn for the recommendation, my feet and I thank you!
Want to know something else that can also make you feel small? Wildlife, like the black bear we saw. If you know me, I am that hiker that tends to jump at the sound of a cracking branch or noises bustling around in the bush, which can sometimes make hikes longer than what they need to be for my poor hiking partner. Again, husband of the year award for Eric, haha. So when we came across this couple staring out into the bush, my heart started to race, knowing that they probably see a bear. After Eric calmed me and talked my heart back into my chest it was quite an amazing experience to be able to look at such a powerful animal, just hanging out and chilling in a tree. Quite amazing to be able to see such a powerful animal in its natural habitat. I'm glad of the space in between us and the bear and that the bear was so content in the tree. I'm fine with seeing bears then, haha!
Hiking out here on the west coast has been one of my favourite things about moving out here. Growing up in Minnesota we obviously didn't have mountains, but I never dreamt that I would love hiking as much as I do. When you are on top of these mountains and seeing these incredible views you really do realize how small you are as well as your problems. God can create this incredible world and move these mountains, well then he can most certainly handle my problems, something I am vividly reminded of on every hike.
This hike was an unforgettable experience with many stories and memories that Eric and I will never forget. We are fortunate to live, in what I think is the most beautiful place in the world. All of these hikes are in our backyard, so yes, we are able to see unbelievably beautiful things all around us, but just remember, there is beauty absolutely everywhere in this world, sometimes you just might have to search a little harder for it, or make beautiful memories with all of the amazing people that surround you each and every day. Life is supposed to be enjoyed to the fullest, so fill it up with beautiful relationships, places, and memories, they will truly last you a lifetime!
xoxo,
