Mara's February Musings
Well here we are, I’ve gathered up the courage to be more present here on my website. I always share my favorite pieces on my Like to Know it account, but I love the idea of getting back into sharing my favorite pieces in more detail here on the blog. This is a safe space for me and a creative outlet that I lost touch with after having kids. I am not here to blame being busy on my kids, but it definitely is an area of life that I used to share with you all, and I miss that. So I am back, and I am so excited to share more with you each week!
If you didn’t already know, I have a monthly newsletter that goes out, and yes it is going out in the middle of February this month! If you don’t already receive it, fill out the form on the home page and you’ll be added to the monthly newsletter with all of my favorite things for the month ahead! This post I am focusing on sharing my favorite fashion finds for the month! Follow along for my favorite pieces and for a special discount code to receive another percentage off my spring capsule pieces for this upcoming season!
NO. 1 | All Things Denim
Denim is classic and timeless. I love that this trend is sticking around for this season. I got this denim dress last year, it fits true to size and the material is incredible. Thick denim material, but has stretch where it is a comfortable! This denim vest + white denim dress are two pieces that I would find perfect for a spring capsule wardrobe. Perfect neutral pieces that you can mix and match many different ways.

NO. 2 | Cargo Pants
The perfect way to dabble in the trend and get your feet wet. Relaxed jeans have been in for a couple of seasons right now, add a fun pair of relaxed cargo pants to take your mom fit jeans to the next level. Not to mention, who doesn’t love a good relaxed jean that makes you feel comfortable in every which way! Pair with a fitted tee or top to still give that bit of shape to your body without getting lost completely in all things baggy.
NO. 3 | Chic + Grand Millennial style
If you haven’t gathered, I am all about timeless pieces and versatile pieces that will can be styled numerous ways. Don’t get me wrong, I love a full closet full of choices, but it can also be overwhelming, even to me who loves nothing more than pairing outfits. I have my go to’s because I sometimes get overwhelmed in my own closet that I choose a default outfit because I know I love it and that it works. Try adding in a pair of classic denim, this beautiful oval belt, and a fun unique twist on a button down shirt, crop it and give that grand millennial style your own bit of flare.
NO. 4 | Trousers
Don’t sleep on the trousers. Dress them up and down, one of the most versatile type of clothing to keep in your closet. Dress them up with a top and heels, and with that same pair of pants through a crew neck and a pair of sneakers for a more casual day. These Sloane High-rise trousers from Abercrombie are my favorite. I have them in multiple colors!
NO. 5 | Tailored Vests
Another favorite I had last summer and can’t wait to wear this spring + summer! The perfect pairing of feminine + powerful. Again, dress it up or dress it down. Having a versatile closet filled with capsule pieces is going to elevate your style as well as get your creative mind going within your own closet. Mix up the outfits so you don’t get bored of them, much more sustainable and makes it more simple to get dressed for each occassion.
Be sure to use code DENIMAF for a short while, while it lasts for an additional 15% off your entire purchase at Abercrombie + Fitch!
What fashion, lifestyle or design blog post would you like to see next?!
As always, your support and encouragement means the absolute world to me, and I am so excited to get back in touch with this side of my interests + gifts. This creative outlet is so much more than a blog for this mom who still wants to pursue passions, all while being the best version of mom, wife, daughter + friend. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being so encouraging and supportive always!
